The Food Diary

Write it down…it works!

Recording your food intake allows you a very objective look at the REAL quantity and quality of food you are eating. We often feel we are doing everything right, however, when you take the time to accurately record the portions of ALL food you eat, it almost always tells us that your calorie intake is above the amount of calories you need to lose weight and obtain your weight loss goals – or even just your goals of healthier eating.

If you are feeling frustrated, this exercise can really give you some insight. Accurately measure your food portions, record what time you ate, and how you were feeling when you ate (i.e. hungry, sad, bored, upset, etc). Plug your intake into a food processing program – for example Mypyramid.com.

No Medication Needed!?

November 12, 2008

I’ve eaten oatmeal most days for breakfast and cut out cheese as much as I could. I’ve reduced pizza intake and have just been trying to eat more healthy. I’ve intensified my exercise workout ….quite a bit.
It worked! I dropped my overall cholesterol level from 244 to 174 (70 points!). And my bad cholesterol, those LDLs, which were really high at 174 dropped to 108!!! My doctor called me today with the good news; she said everything looks really good and she was wondering if she had put me on medicine. I replied that I was trying to avoid that and was so glad to get these results.
Just wanted to share these exciting results! Woo Hoo!
